The German Christmas Market in Québec City returns from November 19 to December 23, 2026. It is an initiative of the German Community of Québec and spreads across five sites in Old Québec, from Place D'Youville to Place d'Armes. During the holidays, Old Québec is busy and parking there is paid — the organizer itself recommends public transit. That's where a base a short walk away, with your own indoor parking, makes the visit easier.

There is no single best place to stay — it depends on whether you have a car, how many you are and how much walking you want in the cold.

Sleeping inside Old Québec puts you at the foot of the market sites. The trade-off is the car: narrow streets and, according to the organizer, only metered street parking or paid underground lots nearby.
Saint-Roch is the lower-town neighbourhood just below Old Québec. Le Caïman, at 735 Boulevard Charest Est, is a 15-minute walk from Old Québec and a 15-20 minute walk from the market. Each of our two condos has 2 bedrooms and hosts up to 6 guests, and the building has an indoor garage (max height 6 ft 6 in): you park once and walk. Saint-Joseph Street, with its cafés and restaurants, is nearby to warm up after an evening at the market.
If you'd rather have a house than a condo, the Île d'Orléans is about 25 minutes by car from Old Québec.
